The World of Edge (Old times)
This is an account for the world of Edge. It is very limited due to so little knowledge of it, but here is what all of the experts have been able to put together.
Places
The world of Edge is made up of many cites, large and small. In the mainland, there's the city of Correnarn, which is a the main source of trade for the continent of Aspira. There are multiple unknown cites that are known only to those that live there. The port towns are mostly used by the king or the stream pirates for trade, but the ports also have a large number of pubs and inns for tourists and drifters.
Aside from Aspira, there are two other continents that make up the world of Edge. First there is Trinbia, which is known for it's advanced technology. Trinbia is mostly peaceful, although they do have the resources to defend themselves. The people there have a more modern sense of fashion as well as more creative mediums of art. The city of Varin serves as the continent's capital while its main trade center is in Tokine.
The third continent is known as Distaria. Now, Distaria is a very unknown place. It has no capital, and the little trading it does is on the coasts. What is known about Distaria is the people there are very secretive. They have homes, but most of them have underground tunnels that they travel so that outsiders don't know what they do. There is only one record of someone coming out alive who didn't live there. He had gone in with seventy-five other people. The rest were killed before he had a chance to even realize what was going on. He survived by sailing on some wood tided together with rope. Two days after he left the continent, the man was picked up by an Aspirian ship. When he got home, he told his people about what he had seen, about the dark skills that the Distarians had and about what they were really like.
People
In the world of Edge, there are numerous types of people, though most of their classifications deal with their job, rather than their species. When it comes to types of beings, there are the Chao, Human, and the Dari. Humans are the main type of beings, and they don't need to much explaination. Humans are the same as they'd be on Earth.
Chao beings are very different. Although there are no more pure Chao beings, there are partials. Chao beings were originally formed from pure Chaos, and before the death of the pure Chao beings, all of them were prohibited from marrying and mating with humans. Chao beings and humans formed at the same time, but humans thought they were better, because they believed that being formed from chaos made them less of a being. Farthenway and his Wife were the last two Chao pure Chao beings, but their son grew up in a human home, being raised as though he was a human. He is the father off all those who are known as the current Chao beings. Pure Chao beings had complete control over darkness and chaos along with pure black hair and eyes, and many of the modern Chao beings carry some of that power with either black hair or black eyes. It is believed that some pure Chao beings were able to run and go live in Distaria, but other than that, people believe that the Chao beings had been wiped out, since nobody knew about Farthenway's child.
The Dari is a race of beings that are formed from the elements like the Chao are formed from chaos. They came five hunderd years after humans and Chao beings, so humans once again originally believed they were better, but the humans didn't hunt down the Dari like they did to the Chao beings. Humans and Dari were able to live in peace, due to the element magic of wizards. Dari and human wizards have been able to work together to create a metropolis for those who can use magic.
Now there are other types of classifications. Wizards are those who can use their own magic to do things, while mages take magic from the elements to use however they please. Most wizards and mages do not get along at all, wizards thinking they are better because they use their own forces, and mages thinking they're better because they have more power in their magic.
Other than wizards and mages, there are two other kinds of people. First, we have the warriors. Most warriors eventually rule under their king, but there are some that go off to be drifters or to work in a warrior's guild.
Next are the pirates. We have the normal pirates who actually work for the king though only the pirates really know that. Then there are stream pirates who tend to work harder to get less than normal pirates, but they don't have to worry about working under the rules that they haven't created. Stream pirates have a moral code that they tend to follow, and most captains treat their crew like equals. Normal pirates wave the typical skull and crossbone flag while stream pirates wave either their captain's family crest or a black flag with a white river going down from all four corners.
That is the world of Edge, and most of what it's about. There is no full map of the world because nobody has traveled the entire world. Not even the pirates know what it's all like. Explorers will keep on trying to complete it though, so it won't be too long until it's finished.
